White Men Can’t Hump must surely be counted among the classics of modern cinema, one of those rare porn parodies that manages to surpass the original in every respect. In the future aspiring filmmakers will study this film alongside Fellini’s 8 1/2 and Kurosawa’s Rashomon. Mark my words.
Actually no—I’m full of shit. The film does show, however, that despite all the bitching we do about porn these days, the stuff they were cranking out in the early 90s was far worse. Between the bad dye-jobs, the big hair and the grainy video, well, let’s just say I’m glad we have bigger and better things to whine about in the 21st century.

I remember that video. I remember that the only time you could see IR BM/WF porn in th eearly 90s was titles like “Let me talk to you about White Chicks” by the Dark brothers which continued the stereotypes. Actually I think that porn was getting better at the end of the Clinton administration, since most tapes by Anabolic,Elegant, and Evil Angel had at least one scene in there with a BM/WF pairing. Now Bm/WF is limited almost exclusively to speciality types which are designed to appeal to the “Monster Cock” fanatic. Think of hush-hush and New Sensations product. With the exception of the European shot productions of Sineplex and Rocco’s stuff for Evil Angel, you will rarely see normal Bm/WF sex in the same movies as Wm/WF sex.
On the contract girl front, back in the late 90s virtually all of Sin City’s contractgirls like Katja Kean, Linda Thoren did IR. Half of the VCA girls like Juli Ashton, Kylie Ireland did at least one movie under contract. Even Wicked released Eros in 1999 featuring their second tier contract girls Missy and Stephanie Swift doing IR.
Now the only time you see a contract girl doing IR she is at the end of her career and ready to leave the business- think Janine and Julia Ann. Pretty sad that we now have to wait till the women are in thier mid-30s before they say what the hell and give IR a try.

Wow. That takes me back! I’ve been watching adult films so long, I remember Sean Michaels coming on board, and thinking, about time, after Ray Victory and FM Bradley, here’s a dude that adds a drop of class to the genre. The Euro chicks certainly do seem to look like there’s no problem with hopping on a tootsie roll, but the new millenium has brought plenty of exceptions to the old Asia Carrera/Jill Kelly/Jenna Jameson snobbery. In Belladonna’s “Dark Meat” DVD, she has extensive Behind The Scenes where the cast talks about interracial issues. Many of the women in that feature are doing IR for the first time.
