Now you are in my stomping grounds! The Black “girl-girl” genre was exploded with new product in the last few years. I agree with Nadine that it is done for the straight male, which ruins much of it’s potential. I will still snatch up new releases, even when warned against it, because opinions are so subjective, and there’s usually a few shining moments to glean from the fodder. Nadine named some really good stuff, although I am STILL waiting to actually receive the Comstock films promised release of “Kisha and Ashley”. “The Crash Pad” is excellent. Shine Louise Houston is the truth! I was less enthused about “Superfreak” but that was because they incorporated mainstream Porn women in that last scene. Granted, they were the ones that are really into women, but Lorelei Lee is such a ham, and the darn feature was barely over an hour long. I will watch anything the cast member Vasa does, and I love that she refuses to consider herself a pornstar.
I love that Houston goes for a hard edge unabashedly, because I tend to find the Abby Winters style, and those favored on LezLove.com a bit too soft and kissy face for me. Every now and then, a nice balance is struck, like with the scene between Aleia and Candy in Girlfriend Films’ “Women Seeking Women” Volume 17.
