Ahh… the sweet smell of irony. Just days after I post about the world’s biggest orgy (hosted in Japan), along comes this worrisome article about the declining birthrate in Japan:
“Japanese people simply aren’t having sex,” Dr. Kunio Kitamura, director of the Japan Family Planning Association, was quoted as saying by the Japan Times, an English language daily.
An association survey of 936 people between the ages of 16 and 49 showed 31 percent had not had sex for more than a month “for no particular reason”—a condition known as “sexless.”
“As much as subsidies and welfare programs are important, sexlessness is also a critical issue in this problem.”
Perhaps these people were just doing their civic duty.

Both Sexoteric and Fleshbot ran news items about a Tokyo swingers group called, appropriately enough, Tokyo Swingers. The group throws twice-monthly parties wherein local gaijin and Japanese couples indulge their racial fetishes for each other (unsurprisingly, Japanese women are the draw for Western couples and Western men are the draw for Japanese couples). Both news items missed this bit of racial nastiness from the organization’s about page:
I don’t say I never invite blacks because I have once invited a black guy, but if I only invite one black man out of 100 blacks, I guess I should say “I don’t invite blacks”.
The organizer expands on his racist views in the site’s forums, yet complains elsewhere that he cannot find many couples willing to attend his parties. Color me shocked. He’s such a charmer.

There’s enough going on in these galleries from Japanese photographer Ken-ichi Murata to keep you occupied—and perhaps titillated—for a good half hour. Much of Murata’s work involves bondage scenes set against a decaying, almost apocalyptic backdrop. In a nod to the old European memento mori tradition, the artist often places spooky looking skulls in his compositions.
